Bristol Waste launch commercial service

Bristol Waste Company has launched a full-service commercial waste and recycling collection service to meet increasing demand from businesses in Bristol and the surrounding areas.

We recognise that every business has its own waste requirements, yet most receive a one-size-fits-all “solution” - irrespective of its size or the industry it operates in. Bristol Waste Commercial has been launched to provide a more bespoke, local service that works closely with businesses to fully understand their needs and the challenges they face.”

Building on the success of its domestic collection services, which have been operating since August 2015, Bristol Waste Commercial is offering companies across the city a bespoke waste management solution which includes general waste and recycling, shredding, commercial skips and clinical waste. It will also offer source segregated recycling – where waste is sorted at the company’s own premises before being taken away by BWC.

Source segregated recycling helps keep contamination with general waste to a minimum, thus ensuring as much is recycled as possible. Furthermore, it helps maximise diversion from landfill by, for example, creating refuse derived fuel (RDF) or energy from waste (EFW).

Tracey Morgan, managing director at Bristol Waste Company said: “We recognise that every business has its own waste requirements, yet most receive a one-size-fits-all “solution” - irrespective of its size or the industry it operates in. Bristol Waste Commercial has been launched to provide a more bespoke, local service that works closely with businesses to fully understand their needs and the challenges they face.”

It is increasingly expensive for businesses to dispose of general waste and far cheaper to recycle. To address this, Bristol Waste has pledged to provide customers with all the necessary information and resources they need to recycle more efficiently, including food waste bins which are widely underused by Bristol businesses.

Tracey continues: “By helping businesses recycle more effectively, our new commercial offer will help them reduce their costs and will help us maximise diversion from landfill. In turn, the value derived from the sale of recyclable materials, increased through source segregated recycling, will help us further reduce the cost of the service to our customers. Bristol Waste Company already has a lot of infrastructure in place to service our domestic contract, so we are certain we can be competitive on price.”

The launch of Bristol Waste Commercial has resulted in the creation of 10 new jobs for the local economy, with more expected as the business grows. The new business is managed by Lee Graham who brings with him a wealth of experience in the waste industry.

Businesses interested in finding out more can visit the Bristol Waste site or call 0800 061 4321 to arrange a meeting with a sales executive.

Bristol Waste Company will also be exhibiting at the Business Showcase SW at Ashton Gate Stadium on 17 May 2017. Businesses attending the event can speak with a representative from the company to hear more about the services on offer.
