Bristol Waste takes delivery of the latest more efficient, more powerful vehicles.

Bristol has over 800 miles of streets and paths to keep clean – and we pick up 10 tonnes of litter from them every day

We’re committed to working with the people of Bristol to help keep their communities clean and tidy (see article about Ben Barker and his colleagues in Bedminster for a great example).

But we still need to clear up the ten tonnes of litter that are dropped in our city every day.  To do this, we need the best equipment for our teams.  You’ll see our crews out and about in our new sweepers – the Bunce S2 – which are lighter and narrower than our previous fleet.

These machines are more efficient – as well as picking up all that litter, they use 30% less fuel and emit 30% less C02.   We’d love to get to the point where we need fewer of these machines because there is less litter for us to collect – but, in the meantime, we’re doing our bit to minimise our impact on the environment.
